I created Mixed media Beachscape 'GOOD VIBRATIONS' for the parents of three sons, based on a special family memory of long, beautiful beach holidays.
Three brothers playing in the dunes by the sea – now grown men, but here still captured in the carefree atmosphere of their childhood.
I was given several old holiday photos for this work. I brought the boys from different photos together in one new image.
 
At the top, you can see fragments from their grandmother's ration book from the Second World War, while the texts on the left refer to their father, who loved to go fishing with his sons.
 
The result is a layered work in which personal memories, family history and the atmosphere of The Beach Boys' classic “Good Vibrations” come together.
 
Many thanks to the parents for their wonderful cooperation and trust in me to make this memory tangible in a large work of art.
