DON'T SEAS THE DAY
Mixed Media Collage 'DON'T SEAS THE DAY' is a beachscape with two children running in the waves.
db Waterman has used layered textures to depict the sea foam and splashing water. The figures are dark silhouettes, allowing the viewer to project their own childhood memories and emotions onto them.
The work is about our childhood, freedom, and the fleeting nature of holiday experiences. Back to summer days, when time seemed endless and worries were absent.
The beach scene is a nostalgic image, capturing the joy of running in the surf, but also the melancholy of the passing of time.
The structured layers in the background, created with acrylic paint, collage, and texture mediums, add depth and dimension. They suggest wind and waves in the distance. The artwork feels rough and worn, making the landscape reminiscent of weathered postcards or fading photos of summers past.
