LEAVING THE LUCIDE LANDSCAPE
Mixed media landscape art consisting of four parts. It forms a coherent but fragmented narrative. The top part shows a pale, textured sky with two dilapidated houses. Their warm, earthy tones contrast with the pale white background and suggest isolation or desolation.
Each structure is accompanied by a solitary figure, emphasising the theme of human loneliness or introspection.
The lower half shifts to a darker, grittier landscape, textured with layers of grey and black that evoke decay or industrial relics. In the lower right quadrant, a rusty chain emerges, coiled and broken, symbolising detachment, struggle or the remnants of past constraints. The sharp separation between the upper light and lower dark areas accentuates the tension between hope and abandonment, vulnerability and resilience.
This painting powerfully explores themes of separation, impermanence and the complex interaction between human presence and the environment.
