NEW! Making my footprint

The latest work of art by db Waterman is called ''MAKING MY FOOTPRINT”.

It is a Textured Mixed Media landscape on a square Canvas, made with acrylic paint mixed with a gel paste for the substrate. Intended to create a concrete look. The inspiration for this way of working comes from db Waterman's love for weathered and dilapidated walls and buildings.

On top of that layer, db Waterman worked with acrylic paint and watercolor paint, combined with pastel chalk, ink and pencil.

Children have a natural need to investigate things. Sometimes without thinking.

The painting is about a girl making her footprint in the wet sand on the beach. She wants to leave her trail, but notices that it keeps disappearing due to the sea water.

This makes her realize that it will take a lot of effort, to leave a permanent footprint in her life. She wants to make a difference. But she is ready to start....

Children are a great source of inspiration for db Waterman.

Their ability to transcend any rotten situation is amazing. Playing tag in the ruins of a bombed-out Syrian city. Playing soccer in the most miserable neighborhoods. They are always looking for the light. They save the future that our generations really messed up and don't even blame us for it. If only we could preserve the child in ourselves a little more, we wouldn't be in such a mess. Art can help us find our childlike innocence again
